The REAL Date is Coming!!

We’re getting really excited! We’re not letting our pandemic-ordered five person wedding stop us now! Not with an army of online family and friends cheering us on from across the globe!

The links to the wedding livestream and the Zoom toast reception are coming. The details will also be posted here.

IMPORTANT: Download the free Zoom app!

This is especially important for Apple users (iPad, iMac, iPhone, iLoveYou). You will need to visit the Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/zoom-cloud-meetings/id546505307

Remember to allow Zoom access to your device video and audio settings.

Please let us know if you would like a test Zoom meeting before the wedding.

We can’t wait to see you!

Why wait?!?!?!?!?!?

Remember the time we wanted to get married October 10th, 2020 but we thought we would postpone until 2021 because of all of the uncertainty? Well, it seems that the pandemic is not going anywhere so… neither are WE!

We are delighted to announce that we ARE getting married on December 12, 2020 at 2:30 pm Pacific Time, at Saint Catherine’s Anglican Church in North Vancouver! It will be a pandemic-friendly ceremony (read: tiny) but will leverage technology so that you can watch from the comfort of your home.

We are still figuring out the details so stay tuned to this webpage for more information on how to connect to the livestream and zoom toasts!

Can’t wait to “see” you all there, with love,

Ali and Julie

Saved by the Pandemic

So, you remember how we were planning to get married beside Lynn Creek October 10th 2020? We decided to drop by on what was going to be our big day…

10.10.2020 was pouring rain. And the site was flooded. And it was chilly. White water kayakers came by. Eight of them in colourful kayaks, enjoying the rapids past our beloved submerged Commitment Rock. There was a small waterfall and waves. We are not kidding.

Save the Year: 2021 Wedding Plans

Hello Dear Friends and Family. Sigh. There is just too much uncertainty for all of us right now. Between flights, room capacities, confusing bubble rules, the second wave, and different provincial guidelines, we are disappointed to say that we are postponing our exchange of vows and celebrations to 2021. #Boo #Pandemic #COVID-19 #TwoMetreBrides #WhereDoIPutMyMask?

Thank you for showing such love for our love. Your support is deeply appreciated. And, we can’t wait to have this celebration and share it with you. #Jali2021

Keep checking in with us and this amazing website, and go well.

Save the date (sort of)!

As many of you know, we’ve been planning to marry in a tiny ceremony with our kids and sibs at Commitment Rock on October 10, with larger celebrations with all of you in Parksville on the same day and in Ottawa the following week.

And then. In March. Or possibly February (no one was really paying attention; Wuhan knew in late 2019), the GLOBAL pandemic gained traction. And now, here we are, in our little bubble, creating a website to confess that we really have no idea what is happening with our wedding.

Commitment Rock, Tsleil-Waututh

This site will keep everyone up to date on what might be happening – or not happening. There is no way at this point to know if we can travel. Or if you can travel. Or if we can have a big gathering. Or if we’ll get married with PPE.

What we do know: we love each other and are ready to marry one another whenever that might be. We are eagerly awaiting a reply from the registrar for acceptance of our new last name: JALI4EVA

We’re open to your suggestions. Post them in the comments below. We’ll keep you all updated and hope to see you all in the fall.

Go well,

Ali and Julie xo
